We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented candidate to join our dynamic team as an Engineering Technician. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting our engineering department by working closely with various teams and ensuring smooth operations from quotes to customer blueprint designs. If you are a self-starter with strong organizational skills, experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks, and a keen eye for detail, we want to hear from you!
Job Details
- Position Type: Hourly, Full Time
- Work Hours: Monday – Friday | Typically 7:00am – 3:30pm
- Pay Range: $22 - $27/hour, depending on experience
- Work Location: Hotform (7034 IL Rt 84, Savanna, IL 61074)
- Reports To: Applications Engineer, Senior
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the weekly Team Feasibility meetings to ensure clear communication and project alignment.
- Organize and manage all incoming RFQs (Requests for Quote).
- Draw up customer blueprints using AutoCAD and SolidWorks software.
- Collaborate with Sales, Purchasing, and other departments as part of the quoting process.
- Organize and maintain the cost estimate database and related forms, ensuring all data is accurate and current.
- Learn and support the Engineering Change Management System.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Skills/Competencies
- Ability to follow and interpret verbal and written work instructions.
- Ability to take initiative, demonstrating the ability to work independently and drive tasks to completion without supervision.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain clear and accurate records.
- Ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with team members and internal customers both in writing and verbally.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and detailed drawings.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
- Typically requires an associate’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- Previous industrial manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated steady work history with minimal employment gaps.
- History of reliable attendance record and punctuality - essential to support production timelines and team operations.
