Role Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Technician performs entry-level maintenance tasks to support the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of facility systems, equipment, and grounds. Working under the direction of the Maintenance Manager or senior maintenance personnel, this role assists with preventive maintenance, basic repairs, and general facility upkeep. The Technician I learns foundational maintenance skills while supporting compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with routine maintenance and basic repairs on facility systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, compressed air, and building infrastructure.
Perform preventive maintenance tasks as assigned to minimize downtime and maintain safe facility operations.
Support inspections of building systems and utilities; report findings to supervisor or senior technician.
Complete assigned work orders in a timely and accurate manner within the preventive maintenance system.
Assist in installation and repair of utility systems (electrical, gas, air, water, sewer, sprinklers, alarms) under supervision.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas in accordance with 5S standards.
Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and basic powered industrial equipment as required.
Support coordination with contractors and vendors during repair or upgrade projects.
Follow all safety policies, environmental regulations, and company procedures; escalate concerns as appropriate.
Maintain spare parts inventory by assisting with stocking, organization, and reporting low inventory levels.
Perform general facility upkeep including minor carpentry, painting, lighting replacement, and grounds support.
Accurately document maintenance activities, inspections, and completed tasks.
Participate in continuous improvement efforts and complete additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
Education: None
Experience: Experience: 0–3 years of experience in facilities maintenance, industrial maintenance, or related field; manufacturing environment experience preferred
Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or plumbing systems
Ability to use common maintenance tools and equipment safely
Ability to work under direct supervision and follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to read basic blueprints, diagrams, or technical manuals preferred
Willingness to obtain powered industrial truck certification if required

Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift
Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including heat, cold, dust, and noise
Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces as required
Manual dexterity sufficient to operate tools, equipment, and machinery
Visual acuity to read gauges, diagrams, and safety signage
