Job Summary
MacLean-Fogg is hiring an Engineering Technician for 2nd shift at our Saegertown, Pennsylvania manufacturing facility. In this hands-on technical role, you will support engineering staff with the setup, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvement of mechanical equipment, machinery, and manufacturing processes.
Location: Saegertown, PA
Work Arrangement: On-site
Schedule: 2nd Shift, Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM-11:00 PM with occasional weekends
Pay: $22-$28/hour
Employment Type: Full-time / Hourly
Overtime: Occasional overtime may be required.
What You'll Do as an Engineering Technician
Set up, adjust, and operate production machinery as needed to support manufacturing processes.
Perform routine tests, inspections, calibrations, and adjustments to help ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.
Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, perform routine maintenance, and identify potential issues before they lead to production downtime.
Collaborate with engineering teams on automation improvements, machine installations, equipment changes, and manufacturing layout updates.
Assist with equipment modifications and repairs using basic hand tools, power tools, and other appropriate equipment.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machine setup and operational requirements.
Support the design, fabrication, assembly, testing, and prototyping of new or modified mechanical components, products, and processes.
Maintain accurate maintenance and inspection records, document equipment issues and performance data, and follow applicable safety, environmental, quality, and 5S requirements.

Required Qualifications
Basic understanding of mechanical systems, machinery, and troubleshooting.
Ability to read and interpret engineering specifications, blueprints, drawings, and shop orders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical issues.
Ability to perform tasks accurately and ensure equipment setups and repairs meet specifications.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, adapt to changing needs, and learn new technical skills.
Commitment to safe work practices and maintaining a safe working environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous relevant experience in an engineering or technical role, ideally up to 2 years. Prior experience is not required.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This role is performed on-site in a manufacturing environment and involves hands-on work around production machinery, mechanical equipment, and tools. Employees in this role are expected to follow applicable safety, environmental, and quality requirements and maintain a clean, organized work area in accordance with 5S principles.
