Role Summary
As an Operator 2 for the Sorting Machine is responsible for operating and monitoring sorting machinery to ensure accurate and efficient sorting of products according to quality standards. This role requires technical proficiency, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement. The Operator will perform regular inspections, identify product quality issues, and adjust settings on the machine to optimize production processes.
Key Responsibilities
Operate sorting machinery according to specified instructions, ensuring efficient and consistent sorting of products.
Inspect products for defects or quality concerns as they pass through the sorting machine, ensuring all products meet company standards before moving to the next production stage.
Make routine adjustments to machine settings as necessary to maintain quality and productivity. • Identify and troubleshoot minor machine issues, reporting any significant problems to maintenance or the supervisor.
After sorting process is complete, package product into packaging cartons.
Accurately record production data, including the quantity of sorted products, machine malfunctions, and downtime.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting ways to improve processes, reduce waste, and increase machine efficiency.
Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately
Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned
Skills/Competencies
Ability to read and interpret, blueprints, work instructions and technical specifications.
Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on product quality.
Effective communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with machine operation and basic mechanical troubleshooting.
Ability to read and interpret machine settings and production metrics.
Qualifications (Required)
Education: Bachelor's
Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating sorting or similar machinery in a manufacturing or production environment
Qualifications (Preferred)
Certifications: Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Prolonged standing, bending, and walking for extended periods.
