Role Summary
The Material Handler 1 is an entry-level position responsible for supporting the movement, storage, and tracking of materials within the facility. This role ensures timely delivery of raw materials and finished goods to support production and shipping schedules. Working under direct supervision, the Material Handler 1 operates warehouse equipment, processes transactions in inventory systems, and maintains organized and accurate material flow while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Position Type: Full-Time/Hourly (Non-Exempt)
Pay Range: $22.66 per hour + $2.50 shift differential after completing training and transitioning to 2nd shift
Work Location: Onsite – Mundelein, IL 60060
Shift: Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM – 12:00 AM
Training Schedule: Training will be performed on 1st shift, Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate powered industrial equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, to move materials throughout the facility.
Load and unload trucks while ensuring materials are handled safely and accurately.
Transport raw materials to designated production areas to support continuous operations.
Receive inbound materials and verify quantities against shipping documentation.
Prepare and stage outbound shipments according to production and customer requirements.
Utilize warehouse systems (JDE, RFS, RF scanners, or similar) to transact inventory movement.
Label, package, and organize materials to maintain accuracy and traceability.
Inspect materials for visible damage and report discrepancies to supervision.
Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory activities.
Maintain organized work areas in accordance with 5S standards.
Follow all safety procedures, including proper equipment operation and load securement practices.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Skills/Competencies
RF scanners Stand-up forklift (1+ year of experience)
Safety Awareness – Demonstrates safe work practices and equipment operation.
Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy in inventory movement and documentation.
Reliability: Maintains consistent attendance and task completion.
Teamwork: Works effectively with production, shipping, and warehouse personnel.
Basic Problem Recognition: Identifies discrepancies and escalates issues appropriately.
Time Management: Completes assigned tasks within required timeframes.
Communication: Clearly communicates material needs or issues to supervision.
Qualifications (Required)
Experience: 0–2 years of warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing experience preferred
Ability to operate powered industrial equipment or willingness to obtain certification.
Basic computer skills and ability to use handheld scanning devices
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift.
Frequent lifting, bending, stooping, and reaching.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as required.
Ability to push or pull carts or pallets of materials.
Ability to work in a manufacturing or warehouse environment with exposure to noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures.
Manual dexterity to handle small components and operate scanning equipment.
