Job Summary

MacLean-Fogg is hiring a Senior Quality Engineer at our Mooresville, NC manufacturing facility. In this role, you will establish and continuously improve quality standards, lead cross-functional problem solving, and strengthen product and process quality. You will also mentor junior engineers and support compliance with internal and external quality requirements.

• Pay: $85,000-$110,000/year

What You'll Do as a Senior Quality Engineer

• Establish, maintain, and continuously improve quality standards for products and manufacturing processes.

• Lead cross-functional teams involving product design, product management, manufacturing, and suppliers to identify quality risks and develop mitigation strategies.

• Lead complex investigations into product defects, non-conformities, and quality failures using problem-solving methods such as 8D, Fishbone, and FMEA to identify root causes and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.

• Conduct audits of production processes, raw materials, suppliers, and vendors to verify adherence to internal and external quality standards, including ISO 9001 and other applicable certifications.

• Support compliance with regulatory and industry standards, including ISO 9001 and IATF 16949, and prepare for and assist with external audits.

• Maintain accurate and timely quality documentation, including audit reports, Non-Conformance Reports, CAPAs, and other quality records.

• Participate in APQP activities and prepare, compile, and submit PPAP packages supporting new product launches and engineering changes.

• Mentor and coach junior engineers, promote data-driven problem solving, and reinforce company safety, environmental, and quality standards.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.

• 4-6 years of experience or equivalent work experience.

• In-depth knowledge of quality engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices.

• Proficiency in root cause analysis, failure analysis, and quality improvement techniques such as Lean and Six Sigma.

• Strong analytical and advanced problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts and quality issues across all levels of the organization, including senior leadership.

• Demonstrated leadership skills with experience mentoring or coaching junior engineers and guiding teams toward quality objectives.

• Proficiency with statistical and data analysis tools such as Excel, Minitab, or similar software.

• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize work, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This role includes work in manufacturing areas where noisy conditions may be present. The position requires repeatedly lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, pushing or pulling up to 50 pounds, frequent bending and stooping, and sufficient dexterity to handle small objects.
