Job Summary
MacLean-Fogg is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician for our Whitewater, WI manufacturing facility. In this hands-on technical role, you'll troubleshoot complex equipment, lead major repairs and maintenance projects, and improve equipment reliability and performance. You'll also serve as a technical resource, mentor other maintenance technicians, and collaborate with engineering and operations teams to reduce downtime and strengthen maintenance practices.
Location: Whitewater, WI
Work Arrangement: On-site
Schedule: 3rd Shift, Sunday–Thursday, 10:55 PM–7:00 AM
Other Compensation: Shift differential
Employment Type: Full-time / Hourly
Overtime: Occasional overtime may be required.
What You'll Do as a Senior Maintenance Technician
Lead advanced troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of complex industrial equipment and machinery, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Plan, coordinate, and execute major equipment repairs, rebuilds, installations, and maintenance projects to support reliable manufacturing operations.
Lead root cause analyses of recurring equipment failures, implement corrective actions, and strengthen preventive maintenance practices.
Partner with engineering and operations teams to improve equipment design, manufacturing processes, reliability, and operational efficiency.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, maintenance best practices, and long-term equipment maintenance strategies.
Train, mentor, and certify Level 1 and Level 2 maintenance technicians, sharing technical knowledge and supporting skill development.
Coordinate contractors and vendors performing specialized maintenance, repairs, and equipment-related services.
Lead continuous improvement efforts to increase equipment uptime, reduce maintenance costs, and improve workplace safety while ensuring compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
At least 5 years of maintenance or skilled-trade experience in a manufacturing environment.
Advanced knowledge of industrial equipment troubleshooting, repair techniques, and preventive maintenance practices.
Strong technical proficiency in diagnosing and resolving complex equipment and machinery problems.
Proven ability to train and mentor other maintenance technicians.
Strong communication and collaboration skills for working effectively with engineering, quality, operations, and maintenance teams.
No formal education credential is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Trade certification or professional licensing in a mechanical, electrical, or multi-skilled maintenance discipline.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This position involves hands-on maintenance work in a manufacturing environment, including:
Standing, walking, bending, climbing, and reaching for extended periods, potentially up to 12 hours.
Frequently lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling materials, tools, or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Using manual dexterity to handle tools, materials, and small equipment components.
Reading gauges, technical manuals, and equipment information and performing detailed visual inspections.
Working in environments that may be noisy, hot, or confined.
Consistently using required personal protective equipment (PPE).
