Role Summary
The Environmental and Sustainability Advisor provides support the organization’s manufacturing sites by partnering with operations teams to maintain environmental compliance, advancing sustainability initiatives, and managing chemical programs. This role is focused on guidance, coaching, and collaboration, ensuring sites understand and meet regulatory requirements while driving continuous improvement in waste, water, emissions, and energy performance.
The Advisor works closely with site EHS, Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations teams to maintain strong compliance programs, encourage proactive practices, and build environmental capability across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain environmental programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and ISO-14001 certification pertaining to company operations.
Support sites maintain required environmental plans (SPCC, SWPPP, waste management procedures) to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and ISO-14001 certification by providing guidance, templates, and periodic reviews.
Promote consistency and standardization of environmental compliance processes across all manufacturing locations.
Support the development and adoption of standard audit tools, checklists, and environmental controls.
Work collaboratively with manufacturing sites to support environmental permit requirements including air, water, waste, and stormwater obligations.
Assist sites with preparing environmental reports and documentation (Tier II, TRI, hazardous waste annual reports, wastewater sampling, etc.) by offering technical support and templates.
Support sites during environmental inspections and audits—helping prepare, participating, and guiding follow-up actions.
Collaborate with Operations and Engineering to identify practical opportunities to reduce waste, emissions, water use, and energy consumption.
Coordinate environmental data collection and reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
Identify opportunities for improved environmental performance, waste reduction, emissions reduction, and resource efficiency.
Oversee corporate chemical management programs, including chemical approvals, inventory controls, and regulatory compliance (e.g., TSCA, REACH, PFAs).

Qualifications (Required)
Education: Bachelor's
Experience: Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
5-7 years of experience in environmental compliance roles, preferably in manufacturing or industrial settings.
Strong knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations
Experience supporting or contributing to environmental reporting or audits.
Experience with implementation of ISO 14001 or other management systems.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to push/pull objects up to 30 pounds.
Must be able to work in noisy environments.
Willingness and ability to travel at least 50% of the time.
