Job Summary

Mallard Manufacturing, a MacLean-Fogg Company, is hiring a Material Handler at our Sterling, Illinois manufacturing facility. In this entry-level role, you will move, store, and track raw materials and finished goods to support production and shipping while maintaining safe and accurate material flow.

• Location: Sterling, IL

• Work Arrangement: On-site

• Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM-2:30 PM

• Pay: $18-$19.40/hour

• Employment Type: Full-time / Hourly

• Overtime: Overtime may be required based on business needs.

What You'll Do as a Material Handler

• Safely operate powered industrial equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, to move materials throughout the manufacturing facility.

• Load and unload trucks while handling materials safely and accurately.

• Transport raw materials to designated production areas to support continuous operations.

• Receive inbound materials, verify quantities against shipping documentation, and prepare outbound shipments according to production and customer requirements.

• Use warehouse systems, including JDE, RF devices, and handheld scanners, to complete inventory transactions and maintain accurate material records.

• Label, package, organize, and inspect materials for visible damage, reporting discrepancies as appropriate.

• Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory activities while maintaining organized work areas in accordance with 5S standards.

• Follow established safety procedures, equipment operating requirements, and documented work instructions.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

• No specific education credential is required.

• Ability to operate powered industrial equipment or willingness to obtain required certification.

• Basic computer skills and ability to use handheld scanning devices.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing work.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This role involves standing and walking for extended periods during the shift, along with frequent lifting, bending, stooping, and reaching.

Employees in this role may:

• Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds as required.

• Push or pull carts, pallets, or other materials.

• Work in a manufacturing or warehouse environment with exposure to noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures.

• Use manual dexterity to handle small components and operate scanning equipment.
