Job Summary
MacLean-Fogg is seeking a Forming Operator - 2nd Shift to support manufacturing operations at our Richmond, Illinois facility. In this entry-level production role, you will operate and monitor forming equipment, perform quality checks, and help maintain safe, efficient production processes. This position offers extensive on-the-job training and the opportunity to build foundational manufacturing and equipment operation skills.
Location: Richmond, IL
Work Arrangement: On Site
Schedule: 2nd Shift. Training will be conducted on 1st Shift (6:00 AM to 4:30 PM) for approximately 6 to 8 months before transitioning to 2nd Shift.
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
Other Compensation: Additional $2.50 per hour upon transition to 2nd Shift
Employment Type: Full-time / Hourly
Overtime: Overtime may be required based on business needs.

What You'll Do as a Forming Operator - 2nd Shift
Operate forming equipment following established work instructions and safety procedures.
Assist with machine setup, adjustments, and changeovers under the direction of supervisors or experienced operators.
Load raw materials, including wire, bar, or other forming stock, and monitor material flow throughout production.
Observe equipment performance and promptly communicate equipment issues, jams, defects, or abnormalities.
Perform routine in-process inspections using gauges and measuring tools to verify product specifications.
Identify, segregate, and report nonconforming material in accordance with quality requirements.
Complete production documentation, including production tracking and scrap reporting.
Maintain a clean and organized work area according to 5S standards.
Follow all safety requirements, including machine guarding and lockout/tagout procedures.
Support preventive maintenance activities, packaging operations, material handling, and labeling of finished goods.
Participate in training programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
0 to 2 years of manufacturing or production experience preferred.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Basic math skills.
Ability to use basic measuring tools and inspection equipment.
Willingness to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Ability to work effectively under direct supervision.
Commitment to workplace safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous manufacturing, production, machine operation, or assembly experience.
Familiarity with quality inspections and production documentation.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and walking.
Ability to lift and carry up to 35 to 50 pounds as required.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, oil, and moving machinery.
Manual dexterity required to operate equipment and use measuring tools.
Visual acuity required to inspect parts and read production documentation.
